Who Are We:

Pillars Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities, with a primary focus on youth and emerging adults. Our mission is to uplift and support these individuals by providing them with the education, resources, and guidance they need to overcome challenges and build brighter futures. Through a range of programs and initiatives, we strive to create a positive impact on our local communities, fostering personal and collective growth. Our commitment to social change and community well-being drives us to address critical issues, including addressing risk factors,  substance abuse prevention and mental health promotion. At Pillars Initiative, we believe that by supporting today’s underserved communities, we’re building a stronger, more resilient foundation for tomorrow. Join us in making a difference, one pillar at a time.

What The Advisory Board Does:

As a Community Advisory Board member, you become an integral part of Pillars Initiative’s mission. Your role is to shape the future of our programs and services, ensuring that they are tailored to the specific and evolving needs of our local communities. We believe in a culture of openness and collaboration, and your insights are invaluable. Together, we meet quarterly to delve into our ongoing projects, plan upcoming initiatives, and explore ways to continually enhance our services.

Board of Directors vs. Advisory Board:

While a Board of Directors focuses on governance, our Advisory Board brings valuable advice and insights.

Who We Need:

We’re actively seeking dedicated volunteers who not only share our passion but also live and work in DeKalb or Gwinnett County. If you’re enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of underserved youth and young adults, your involvement can help us create more targeted and effective programs.

By joining our Community Advisory Board, you not only become a voice for your community but also gain the opportunity to actively shape the future of our initiatives.

Please note that we are committed to representing our diverse community, and we extend a warm welcome to youth as well!
